even more thanks to Paul, helpers, and staff at Markfield.
I have just been on the third camp, and it was AMAZING!! Everyone had a great time, and some of us wanted to stay for another week!
Eventhough my pony was lame, from when i ” broke” her ( haha paul), i still had a fabulous time. Instead, i got Toby… and he wasn’t that bad! So i did the jumping and handy pony competitions on him. We came third in the jumping, which was REALLY close. The top 3 people were within the same second :O
Even though me and the Badger had a developed a good bond between the last 2 days, i rode Barnie whilst his rider rode Smoki But the Mr. Catepillars lost, because Bubbles was Abit exited… I did try to ride him, but he was really out of control..
We also had a really official exam- like quiz.. phones taken off us etc The winner was Hannah with 100% ( GO HANNAH!! woopwoop :P)
Aswell as the riding and quiz, we spend most of the afternoons on the yard doing daily chores such as mucking out, filling haynets, cleaning water and tack, grooming and we also had a competition between two groups for bandadging and platting… no idea who won though - but it was tough and fun challenge, seeing as most of us weren’t that good.
In the evenings we were taken out to sno-tube, tobogan and swim. Tobagganing was really fun as we slid down a special hill in rubber tyres, but we had to run back up it with our tyres to get first in line! We didn’t get very far though… half way up the hill, we gave up and made a long line hanging on to each other. (: Towards the end, Paul joined in, and we all let go of each other half- way down the hill so we all spilt our circle in 10. It was really funny.
Afterwards, we went toboganning, which is where you go as fast as you like around a 600m tube which takes you under the whole ski centre… however, i got my fingers stuck between the seat and the machinery when going uphill.. it hurt for awhile, until i bought a J2O, and my fingers went pink xD
The next night, we went swimming at Maya’s and Millis house, and relaxed by the pool, drinking hot chocolate, eating snacks, and having a message in the jacuzi (:
Every night was great, but my favorite was the wednesday, when we stayed in the cafe, for the hawaiiain night, where everyone dressed up and played games such as limbo and cutting cereal box game, and even though i might’ve fallen twice on carolines foot while i was trying to get the box (oops), but we also had great fun with watching a video, betting which horse was going to win. The ambiance was great, no- one stopped to take a breath between all the screaming at the screen After we worned our voices out, we all went into the school to play higher and higher. Jess T managed to jump 1m 30!! :O - well done Jess!
So many thanks again to Paul, staff, helpers, and drivers.

sorry if you see this in the other category - thanks to paul.. ( oops) xD
I don’t even know how to start because there’s just so much to tell about this tale!:D The first night…getting to know each was a great way to start the camp with livery lucy’s mum coming to do some games with us like “trust and letting go” when lottie fell over!! lol and diving into people in the collecting ring. The next morning when we all had only a few hours sleep, Lottie went for a shower at 6 in the morning, but thts not what woke us up. oh No it was the high pitched scream of Brittany shouting “OH MY GOD, THERE’S A MASSIVE SLUG IN OUR TENT AHHHHH!!!!” When we went in the cafe for breakfast all starving and waiting for hot chocolates, a plate full of toast came out which EVERYONE went for it like it was on rations or something!! Bare in mind i did have about 7 slices tht morning!!Monday night when we went to swadlincote to go snow tubing and taboggoning, we split into two halves, towards the end of snow tubing paul came down with us with the wind trying to blow through his hair. lol sorry paul but it had to be said!!! and on the last go down comin back up the hill Paul pulled Eve up in her ring like she was royalty!!OMG!! What can i say each night was filled with laughter, excitement, Jess T trying to beat last years higher and higher record which she actually did!! Well Done Jess!!!In the Day time we did stuff like lectures which i’m surprised we all managed to listen for so long! Well done girls especially brittany lol, daily chores like tack cleaning, grooming bringing all the horses in from the field.Tuesday was the handy pony which i was glad Thomas won because Natalie does soooo well to keep him under control like tht he didn’t spook at anything!!! Show jumping was the next day!! But on tuesday night was swim and race night!! First we went to maiia and millie’s house where we watched paul get obliterated by millie on the tennis court, charlie the dog go for a swim and everyone go for a dip in the jacuzzi with the fountain through the middle!! But tht night was race night where we could blow our brains out by screaming for the winning horse like mr. catterpillar or maisie moo. The next day with the help of Cecil we managed to get some excellent footage of hatty taking a tumble off Riva However to cheer Hatty up Emily’s commentating was just like being at Burghley. But i think we all know how high Riva can jump don’t we girls!!CARRIBEAN NIGHT!!! where Eve’s amazing talent showed us she can not only pick up a crumb off the floor but also Limbo rele low!!!Now the quiz…it was honestly like taking GCSE’s all over again!! Silence, please hand in your phone and find your seat using the name plates on the tables!! Then the first question came which was “What do you call grooming before you ride” Where Gloria kindly gave us the answer. by accident of course. lol Gloria. Finally Gymkhanas where i was a captain against Natalie. we were called the riding rebels while Natalie’s team was mr. caterpillar. after half way through we were now called the thrashers as we won 6-3. a great victory!!! Anyway i just want to say thnkx to everyone who helped especially to paul who put loads of effort in on all the camps. It was a week to remember for me as it was my first camp!!! Will deffor be bck next year!! can’t wait. so thnkx again to all staff and drivers and helpers u were amazing. caroline xxxxx
